Cyber Girls is an opportunity for females in middle school (grades 6-8) to learn about secure coding, network administration, database safety, secure website design, and information security. The goal is to teach other females about the importance of inclusion of security principles in all areas of computer science. This program runs March 16 – June 15, 2019. All girls must be registered and attend a session by 4/27/2019. Girls do not have to attend every session, even though it is recommended.
Registration is now closed
I secured the grant through National Center for Women & IT’s (NCWIT) AspireIT program, which is funded by Intel, Google, Apple, and Northrop Grumman. LFCC faculty and administration serve as a mentor and fiscal agent for the initiative.
